Norwich
and Norfolk - A Great Place to Visit!
Round about Norfolk
Norfolk has so much to offer the visitor. It has its
own very unique character, a wealth of places to explore,
and a variety of shops and eating establishments. Although
it might not be the place for mountaineers, the county
has contrasting scenery from rugged coastline to forest
and heathland. The Norfolk coast is a peaceful haven
with miles of glorious sandy beaches. Much of this has
been designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty,
and there are an abundance of bird and nature reserves.
Norfolk also has a number of popular holiday resorts
such as Great Yarmouth. Cromer and Hunstanton, where
there are dozens of attractions to suit all tastes and
all age groups. However, it is most famous for its history
and heritage, and we have a huge array of treasures
from stately homes, ancient castles and historic sites
for the visitor to explore and appreciate.
Norwich - not to be missed!
The county of Norfolk is dominated by the city of Norwich.
In medieval times it became one of the country's great
cities and with its blend of ancient and modern a visit
to the city is an essential part of any itinerary. Its
two most famous landmarks are the Castle and the Cathedral
which both date back to Norman times, and it is also
blessed with a rich tapestry of churches and historical
buildings. However, the impressive new Forum building
(which houses the new library) sees a leap into the
modern day. Norwich is a lively, forward looking city
which has become renowned for its modern shopping facilities,
restaurants and bars, and a great nightscene for those
with the energy!
